A vegetable garden was established at the Anganwadi center as a response to the increased demand for food security and nutritional education. The goals, actions, results, and future plans associated with this project are described in this report.
On World Environment Day, Moulana College NSS (unit no. 275) volunteers established a vegetable garden in the Anganwadi near campus. Various vegetable seeds were used for garnishing. The program was begun by an Anganwadi teacher who planted the first seedling. The program was led by NSS program officer Soumya KP volunteer secretaries Muhammed Shibil PC, Shahid, and others, and it was enthusiastically carried out by Anganwadi pupils and NSS volunteers.Â
The Anganwadi’s vegetable garden program has been effective in raising awareness of nutrition, improving food security, and encouraging community involvement. It could become a template for similar projects in other Anganwadi centers and communities if it receives ongoing support and grows.
