Moulana College of Arts, Science & Commerce(AISHE-C-48457), located in Tirur, Malappuram district, has experienced steady growth since its founding. Operated by the Moulana Educational Charity Trust, Kuttayi, the college is a self-financed, co-educational institution affiliated with the University of Calicut. The college offers two AICTE-approved programs and is situated in the coastal, rural village of Chennara.
Since its inception in 2013 with just four courses, Moulana College has expanded its offerings to include eleven undergraduate and two postgraduate programs, now serving approximately 1,600 students. The trust has played a crucial role in introducing new university-sanctioned courses, addressing the educational needs of students and parents in the region. In a relatively short period, the college has made significant strides, producing individuals who excel in both academics and sports.
Given that Tirur is the birthplace of the national poet Mahakavi Vallathol Narayana Menon, the college has placed a special emphasis on activities that nurture literary and creative talents. To further this mission, the college is establishing the Vallathol Smriti Mandapam, a permanent platform for art and literary activities. The college is committed to providing every student with equal opportunities for co-curricular activities, regardless of gender, ensuring full participation in all events.
In line with its commitment to community service, the college is expanding its activities by encouraging students to engage in voluntary services that benefit the local population. Both curricular and extracurricular initiatives are designed to align with the trust’s broader mission: to elevate educational standards, foster the development of future professionals, and create a serene, peaceful, and conflict-free environment for learning.
On October 25, 1989, the Moulana Educational Charity Trust was established with a passionate vision to empower and uplift. Under the leadership of founder P P Mohammed Yaseen and fueled by the lifelong commitment of Mrs. E M Athika, the trust embarked on a noble journey to shape the future of education and society.
The Moulana Educational Charity Trust, founded in 1989 in coastal Tirur Kuttayi, is committed to enhancing educational opportunities for the local community. As a nonprofit and nonpolitical organization, our mission is to uplift the entire community by ensuring that everyone has access to education, regardless of caste, religion, or color. We strive to provide financial assistance to economically disadvantaged families, ensuring that financial constraints do not impede educational pursuits.
For over three decades, we have focused on fostering scientific awareness in health, hygiene, and environmental protection, as well as embracing technological advancements. Our efforts have resulted in a significant impact on the community, with at least one member from nearly every family in the area having studied or worked in one of our institutions.
