The Yoga Club successfully commenced this year’s yoga practice session on Thursday, 03/10/24, at 3:15 PM. The program was held in the college library and continued until Saturday at 4:15 PM. The yoga and meditation sessions were conducted by trainers Sindhu Teacher, Raja Lakshmi Teacher, and Sajeev Sir.The classes were led under the guidance of Yoga Club Teacher Coordinator Sruthiraj, a faculty member of the Cooperation Department. The event marked the beginning of an enriching experience for the students, focusing on physical and mental well-being through yoga and meditation. A total of 21 students participated in the yoga classes, which offered them a valuable opportunity to practice both yoga and meditation, promoting physical and mental well-being. The participants found the training to be an excellent experience, enhancing their focus, flexibility, and inner peace. The Yoga Club expressed its gratitude to the trainers and faculty members for their support in making the session a great success. The participants also shared their positive feedback, noting how the yoga sessions helped them develop mindfulness and relaxation techniques, which they can carry forward in their academic and personal lives.
MAGAZINE INAUGURATION
On September 27, at 10:00 AM, the Student Union “Intifada” of Maulana College of Arts, Science, and Commerce successfully organized the launch of their college magazine. The event was graced by the presence of renowned thinker P. Surendran as the chief guest. Joining him as a special guest was Muhammad Askar, a travel thinker and the founder of the travel platform Koode In. The magazine, titled Muhabbat Ki Dukaan, reflects the commitment of Maulana College to social responsibility while preserving creativity and artistic sensibilities. P. Surendran inaugurated the magazine on behalf of the Intifada Student Union, emphasizing that every student is a promise for tomorrow and should be actively engaged in various social causes as they move into different sectors of society. During the event, a special honor was given to Sarangi, the daughter of Ramya, the Head of the BCA Department and one of the college’s earliest faculty members. Sarangi achieved a remarkable feat by attending 100 questions in just five minutes, earning the title of First Runner-Up in the Influencer Book of World Records. Additionally, despite her young age, she authored and published a book titled Sarangi’s Kunjeyazhuthukal (Sarangi’s Little Writings). The college management recognized and honored Sarangi during the magazine launch ceremony for her outstanding accomplishments. The event also featured speeches and other related programs, with active participation from both students and faculty members. The launch was not only a celebration of creativity but also a reflection of the college’s dedication to nurturing responsible and socially aware individuals.
BEACH CLEANING
The NSS unit (275) of Maulana College organized a beach cleaning drive at the Padinjarekkara Beach as part of a month-long initiative focused on environmental cleanliness in various regions. The program took place on September 28, starting at 8:00 AM, with all NSS volunteers actively participating in the cleanup efforts. The primary focus of the activity was the removal of plastic waste, which had accumulated on the beach. Volunteers worked diligently to clear the area, aiming to make the beach cleaner and more environmentally friendly. The program was led by NSS volunteers Muhammad Shabeer, Nadir, and Rinsha Haneefa, who coordinated the efforts and ensured the successful execution of the cleaning drive. The activity was part of a larger commitment by the NSS unit to contribute to the betterment of the environment and promote awareness about the importance of keeping public spaces clean and free from pollution.
ONAM CELEBRATION WITH PRATHEEKSHA BHAVAN
The NSS unit of Maulana College organized an event called “Snehaaravam” as part of the Onam celebrations on September 13. The event was held at Pratheeksha Bhavan, Thavanur, and took place from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. The celebration was shared with the residents of Pratheeksha Bhavan, a home for differently-abled individuals. The program was inaugurated by Dhyan Chand, one of the residents, who sang a song to mark the beginning of the event. Despite the challenges they face due to their disabilities, the residents experienced immense joy in the warm presence of the NSS volunteers, who brought an atmosphere of love and care. The residents enthusiastically participated in the Onam celebrations, momentarily setting aside their limitations and adding beauty and meaning to the occasion. The program was led by Program Officer Soumya K.P., along with other faculty members, including Shruthi V.S., Jeeny, and Shijin, who all contributed to making the event a memorable and joyful experience for everyone involved.
ONAM CELEBRATION
Moulana College celebrated “Aaravam” ` 2024 Onam with great enthusiasm and joy. The event brought together students, teachers, and staff for a day filled with traditional festivities.Various cultural programs, including traditional dance performances, music, and games added to the excitement. Traditional Onam feast (Onasadya) was served, which everyone enjoyed. The celebrations began with the floral arrangement competition pookkalam. Pookkalm competition The Onam Pookkalam competition held as part of the Onam celebrations concluded with enthusiastic participation from various departments. The vibrant floral designs showcased creativity and teamwork, making the event a grand success.The Department of Mathematics won the First Prize for their exquisite and well-crafted pookkalam. The Second Prize was shared by two teams: the Department of Finance and the Department of BCA, both of whom presented equally impressive designs. The program includes various cultural programs, including traditional dance performances, music, and games like:- Musical chair As part of the Aravam 2024 Onam celebrations, a Musical Chair competition was organized from 12 PM to 1 PM in the college compound. The event saw enthusiastic participation from students, making the competition lively and exciting. In a spirited contest to the rhythm of music, Hasna, a third-year student from the TT Department, emerged as the winner. The students participated in the competition with great enthusiasm and excitement, adding to the festive spirit of the Onam celebrations. Lemon and spoon As part of the Aravam 2024 Onam celebrations, a Lemon and Spoon Race competition was organized from 11 AM to 12 PM in the college compound. The event witnessed the participation of 20 students, making it an exciting and lively competition. In a highly competitive race, Arifuddin, a third-year student from the B.Com CA Department, emerged as the winner. The students participated in the event with great enthusiasm and excitement, adding to the festive atmosphere of the Onam celebrations. A traditional Onam feast, the Onasadya, was served and enjoyed by all. The celebration fostered a vibrant atmosphere, beautifully capturing the spirit of unity and cultural richness. With enthusiastic participation from everyone, the Onam 2024 festivities at Moulana College became a truly memorable event.
BLOOD DONATION CAMP
On Monday, September 9, the NSS unit of Moulana College, in association with MVR Cancer Centre Kozhikode and Tirur Taluk Hospital, organized a blood donation camp on the college campus. The event commenced at 10:00 AM with B.Com CA student Muhammad Shifan inaugurating the camp by donating blood. The camp witnessed active participation from various departments, with a total of 92 individuals registering to donate blood. Among them, 51 people successfully donated blood. The camp concluded by 2:30 PM. NSS volunteers played a crucial role in ensuring the smooth execution of the camp. The Program Officer, Soumiya K.P., along with Volunteer Secretary Muhammad Shibil P.C., led the organization and coordination of the event. Their efforts, along with the enthusiastic involvement of the NSS volunteers, made the camp a successful initiative aimed at saving lives through voluntary blood donation.
GURUVANDHANAM
In celebration of Teacher’s Day on September 5, the NSS Unit (275) of Maulana College organized a special event to honor the college’s teachers. The program, titled “Guruvandanam,” was held to express gratitude and respect towards the educators. The event took place on September 5 at 11:00 AM, with the NSS volunteers warmly honoring all the teachers for their dedication and contribution to education. The ceremony was led by NSS Volunteer Secretary Muhammad Shibil P.C., along with fellow volunteers Muhammad Shahid, Muhammad Shabeer, and Safrina, who played key roles in organizing and conducting the event. The heartfelt recognition extended by the volunteers highlighted the importance of teachers in shaping the future, and the program served as a meaningful gesture of appreciation for their hard work and commitment.
DEPARTMENT OF BBA INDUCTION CEREMONEY (2024-2025)
An induction ceremony for first-year students and their parents of the B.Com Computer Application department was held today (Wednesday, 11/09/2024) from 1:30 PM to 4:00 PM at the college conference hall. The program started with a welcome speech by Assistant Professor Rashid. The Head of the Department, Saritha A.K., presided over the function. The college principal, Dr. Satheesh, and the college administrator, Mr. Rasi, delivered the introductory speeches. A video on anti-ragging laws and legal measures was shown to raise awareness about ragging. IQAC coordinator Assistant Professor Ayesha spoke about the college’s discipline and the opportunities offered by the degree program. An Add-on Course representative then explained the courses available at the college. Third-year student Nasil also addressed the audience. The election of PTA members from the department and parents followed, with Zeenath (parent of Mohammad Binshan) and Babu (parent of Sharath Babu) being elected. To give a deeper understanding of the department and the courses, HOD Assistant Professor Saritha A.K. gave a presentation. Assistant Professor Safa Parvin concluded the event with a vote of thanks.

Political Science department conducted an induction program on September 6/09/24 Friday. The main intention of the programme was to make a awareness about the four year degree BA Political Science and honours programme for students and parents. Program started at 3.10 with prayer. Welcome speech was done by Mrs. Ramlath department of English. principal Dr. Satheesh give a detailed explanation about the course and rules and regulations of our college. Mohamed Irshad V Head of the department who explained the rules and regulations of college to parents. Assistant professors Rintu, Rithu, shibina, Nandhakishor, shouhar,Renuka, Hajara, Ummu Asanath etc joined in this programme. Vote of thanks was done by Mr. Jausal from political science department. The programme ended at 4.45 pm.
DEPARTMENT OF PSYCHOLOGY INDUCTION CEREMONEY (2024-2025)
The dheeksharambam induction Program for first-year students and their parents of the BCA, BSc Mathematics, and BSc Psychology departments was held 09/09/2024 , Monday from 9:55 AM to 12:45 PM in the college conference hall. The event began with a welcome address by Sumayya K.P., Assistant Professor of the Mathematics Department. The program was presided over by Reshma Rajan, Head of the Department of Psychology. The Principal, Dr. Satheesh K.P., delivered the inaugural address, emphasizing the importance of the induction program. As part of raising awareness about ragging and its legal consequences, an informative video on anti-ragging laws was shown. Following this, speeches were delivered by Ramya, Head of the BCA Department, and Mr. Muhammed Rasi, the College Administrator.To highlight the importance of discipline in the college, Mr. Muhammed Irshad, Head of the Political Science Department and Discipline Committee Coordinator, addressed the audience. Fasira, Assistant Professor of the BCA Department, spoke on the topic “Nectos Application and Discipline. PTA member election was conducted, with parents from all three departments. For a better understanding of each department and their respective courses, presentations were made by Fasira (BCA Department), Reshma Rajan (Psychology Department), and Sumayya (Mathematics Department). As a source of inspiration for the new students, those who had achieved excellent results in the university examinations from each department were honored with mementos. The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Sajla, Assistant Professor of the Psychology Department.
